Hello there, my name is Arno Erasmus. Husband, dad and yes, you guessed it… musician. Born in South Africa, now based in Canada for the past 7 years, I lately find myself writing, recording and producing music from my little home studio, whether creating for myself, libraries, businesses or just playing in a local cover band. My focus is to bring joy to the creative projects I take on.
I started playing in bands at age 15, learning the craft and building experience. Discovering the magic of production purely out of necessity because we didn’t have big budgets to book studio time. Over the last few years I’ve worked on various projects ranging from tribute shows to original music, collaborating with creatives all over. Whether writing for clients, refining my own solo projects or helping others shape their sound. My goal has always been simple. Have fun!
It All Happened so Fast
I wasn’t joking when I said I’ve been doing this for most of my life.
After picking up a few chords from my dad at age 6, I never looked back.
My journey really began with performing in cover bands, later finding myself on a stage every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night—all while still in school!
In 2009, I joined Centerstage, one of South Africa’s top entertainment companies, performing in some major tribute productions, including: Absolutely Abba Tribute Show, Tribute to Bruce Springsteen, Neil Diamond – Hot August Night Tribute Show, Lively Up Yourself – Tribute to Bob Marley, Hey Tonight – CCR Tribute, Status Quo Tribute Show, Tribute to Phil Collins, The Kick-Ass Guitar Show and Rocking Through the Decades. Along with many other corporate functions.
One of the biggest highlights was stepping into a music director role, directing a 10-piece band for a production called Back to the 80s show. This was more than just performance; it was about bringing artists together, arranging the show, making sure everything came together seamlessly and running this show successfully for 2 months back to back.
Beyond tribute shows, I’ve played in many cover bands and original line-ups, including releasing, Don’t Give Up with a South African band called Krypt.
Teaching has also been a big part of my journey—I spent five years giving guitar lessons to students of all ages. During that same time, I’ve managed bands and booked artists or DJs for weddings, birthdays, parties and corporate events, ensuring unforgettable performances.
Outside of music, I’ve built a strong career in the tech industry, helping companies develop and support various information systems. My skills also extend to branding, design and web development, where I’ve created complete branding kits, custom websites and IT solutions for clients since 2015.
Lately, my focus has been to write and produce music for music libraries while also enjoying life as a dad. At my core, I am an artist and a creator who loves to inspire, connect and bring something positive to every project I work on.
